The beginning of the story

The Patrol has broken into a hidden bunker and kidnapped the heroine’s parents. Left with only a sturdy nanny-bot, armed with knowledge of robotics and sheer determination, she ventures into the merciless Barrens — in search of her family... and the truth.
Will she keep her Humanity — or become one of the monsters of these lands?
